LENTEN ALMSGIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Ash Wednesday Collections: All collections will be directed toward J.O.I.N. (Joint Organization for Inner-city Needs).

The Purple Bag Project: The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Andrew encourages all parishioners to participate in the annual Lenten "purple bag" project. We will place empty purple bags at the church entrances with lists attached to each bag of the most needed women's hygiene products. If you take a bag, please fill it with any of the products listed and return it to the church parlor anytime during Lent. SVdP members will take the items to J.O.I.N. (Joint Organization for Inner-city Needs) to distribute to our less fortunate neighbors. Take this opportunity to put your faith into action during the Lenten season.

Operation Rice Bowl: During the 40 days of Lent, we will reflect on global hunger and actively help people suffering from a lack of proper nourishment through the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl Lenten almsgiving program. PSR and school students will receive a Rice Bowl during class. Additional Rice Bowls will be available for parishioners in the vestibule and parlor of the Church. If you choose, you can donate to the Rice Bowl Lenten program through ONLINE GIVING. For more information about the CRS Rice Bowl program, CLICK HERE.

FAITH FORMATION OPPORTUNITIES

WALKING IN HIS WAYS: FAMILY DEVOTIONS FOR LENT

Walking in His Ways is a path of blessing for families this Lent. This FREE devotional was written by St. Andrew Parish Adult Faith Director Emily Jaminet who shares tips for how family members can travel this holy road with Jesus. Families will “live Lent” by focusing on the significant aspects of our Lord’s life and learning from Him. The Scripture verses, reflections, conversations, and activities will help each person better live out his or her faith and walk in the ways of Christ with prayer, fasting from wants and desires, and giving alms. Within this special Lent edition, you'll find information for downloadable coloring pages and challenges that make this book educational and enjoyable for the entire family. The books are located at the church entrances, the vestibule and the church parlor.

MILLIONS OF MONICAS: ONE HOUR, ONE PURPOSE, OUR CHILDREN

Every Monday during Lent // 6:00-7:00 PM // St. Andrew Church

Join other Catholic women called by the Holy Spirit to imitate St. Monica by attending this NEW prayer ministry. Our mission is to encounter God through prayer for ourselves and our children and grow in holiness and humility.

Like St. Monica, we pray for our children to return to the practice of their Catholic faith and always stay close to their faith. We are a group of women, young and old, who believe in the power of prayer.

The Monicas will meet weekly during Lent and after Lent, we will meet the first and third Monday of the month.
