LENTEN ALMSGIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Ash Wednesday Collection: All Ash Wednesday collections will be directed toward J.O.I.N. (Joint Organization for Inner-city Needs).

The Purple Bag Project: The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Andrew encourages all parishioners to participate in the annual Lenten "purple bag" project. We will place empty purple bags at the church entrances with lists attached to each bag of the most needed women's hygiene products. If you take a bag, please fill it with any of the products listed and return it to the church parlor anytime during Lent. SVdP members will take the items to J.O.I.N. (Joint Organization for Inner-city Needs) to distribute to our less fortunate neighbors. Take this opportunity to put your faith into action during the Lenten season.

Operation Rice Bowl: During the 40 days of Lent, we will reflect on global hunger and actively help people suffering from a lack of proper nourishment through the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl Lenten almsgiving program. PSR and school students will receive a Rice Bowl during class. Additional Rice Bowls will be available for parishioners in the vestibule and parlor of the Church. If you choose, you can donate to the Rice Bowl Lenten program through ONLINE GIVING. For more information about the CRS Rice Bowl program, CLICK HERE.

FAITH FORMATION OPPORTUNITIES

THE TURNING POINT: The Gospel of John

Mondays: February 27- April 24, Bryce Eck Center, 7:30 p.m.

Parents of the Parish (POP) – a brand new prayer group at St. Andrew – invites all parishioners to this seven-week Scriptural Study. We will dive deeper into the eight miracles of Jesus by studying the Gospel of John and encountering Jesus in a new and personal way with Dr. Allen Hunt's Bible Study! The Turning Point, produced by Dynamic Catholic, is a study experience perfect for people who want to get to know Jesus in the Scriptures but don’t know where to start.

This study will introduce you to people and stories in the Gospel of John that you won’t find anywhere else in the Bible: the woman at the well; a man named Nicodemus; the woman caught in adultery; and Lazarus, the friend Jesus raised from the dead. You’ll read stories about Jesus turning water into wine at the wedding in Cana, Jesus washing the feet of His disciples, and Peter’s marvelous redemption after he denied Jesus three times.

The people in these stories were transformed by their encounters with Jesus. By entering into their miraculous stories, you will encounter Jesus in a personal way and develop a deeper relationship with Him that will transform your everyday life.

Please RSVP on or before Tuesday, February 21. The cost for materials is $10. Contact Emily Jaminet to sign up and place your order.

After February 21, CLICK HERE to order materials directly from Dynamic Catholic. The cost is $15.95 if ordered directly.
