The goal of the youth group is to provide an authentic community that gives middle and high school parishioners a safe place to explore, deepen and enrich their Catholic faith and identity. We accomplish this by providing a solid group of young adult volunteers, led by our Coordinator of Youth Ministry, who share their personal testimony and knowledge of God and the Catholic faith and who support and encourage young people by being present in their lives, both at youth group and throughout the week. We currently have two separate programs, one for students in sixth through eighth grade in the parish and one for our high school students.
Middle school youth group is open to both the school and PSR students and seeks to support parents in their mission of passing on the Catholic faith. At youth group, we encourage a Christ-based community through games, small groups, and short talks on different aspects of our faith. We usually meet one Sunday a month with a few exceptions, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
High School youth group meets Sundays, January through May, 6:30 p.m. via Zoom, for talks and prayer. For the latest updates, contact Andrea McClymont to be added to the email list. Events are also posted in the Sunday Bulletin and on Instagram @firstcalled.
