ABOUT OUR MISSION FACILITATOR, FR. THOMAS BLAU, O.P.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Fr. Blau has successfully led more than 60 missions. He received his undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Akron and following graduation, traveled to Honduras and Guatemala with a lay missionary group. This experience of evangelization and service piqued his interest in the vocations.

Upon his return from Central America, he attended Franciscan University at Steubenville where he earned a master’s in Theology. While there, he was also introduced to the Dominican order of priests and decided to join the order. He was ordained in 1999.

Throughout his tenure, Fr. Blau has served in a variety of Dominican outreach capacities throughout the Midwest and East Coast. But, he has remained grounded to his Cleveland roots and has continued to be an avid Browns, Indians and Cavs fan.

We are blessed to have Fr. Blau lead the mission here at St. Andrew Parish and we warmly welcome him to our parish community.
